GWR - TAKE THE HOLIDAYS OFF ON US!!


Hi Everyone!


WOW!!—It is hard to believe that it’s already December!   As we move into one of the “most joyous time of the year” it is impossible not to see the preparations for the holiday season going on all around us. It is also the time to gather and share in long standing traditions and to be a community—which thankfully this year we have been able to do in person, even if in smaller groups.


At GWR, for many years, we have celebrated our top performers in December with our annual GWR Awards ceremony. On Monday, December 6 we held our 2021 Awards virtually and honored several of our valued team members.  I would like to extend my personal congratulations to all of those who took home this year’s honors, and recognize our top three award winners:


2021 Maintenance Supervisor of the Year—Felipe Hasette at The Veranda in Corpus Christi TX

2021 Manager of the Year—Christy Rudel at Applewood Village in Spring TX

2021 Property of the Year—Trails at Flat Rock in Columbus GA 


Lastly, we appreciate all the hard work that our teams have put in over the past 2 years, and the sacrifices that were made during Covid.  GWR Management will be closing all property offices starting at 1PM on Friday, December 24, 2021 and will remain closed through January 2, 2022.  Offices will re-open with normal business hours on Monday, January 3, 2022, at 8:30am.  We are giving every employee an extra week off this year, with holiday pay, as a THANK YOU!

Brad Swearer
CFO

Before joining GWR equities, Brad was Vice President at Michael Stevens Interests (MSI) where he completed over $1B in acquisitions, dispositions, finance, property rehabilitation and development transactions on behalf of the company.   In his 22+ year career at MSI, Brad was involved in almost every aspect of the operation of a successful real estate investment firm with a multi-family portion of the portfolio that grew to exceed 5,000 apartment units.  His broad based experience at MSI also involved the start-up of a multifamily development platform, as well as investments in various office and land development projects.
